Stage and poster design

The design for this play evolved through a metaphorical understanding of the script. Heavy gunny sacks were used by actors to move around during and in-between scenes in order to not only make different spaces, but also signify the weight these characters were carrying on their shoulders. Different colored ropes hung from the ceiling to the bags and sometimes created boundaries, sometimes signified ties between spaces and characters.

Set design for the theatre group MASHAAL for Dario Fo’s accidental death of an anarchist in Hindi. The design was developed keeping in mind, the entry and exit points of all actors and the scene to be set in 2 police stations. A reversible paneled wall which would give the actors easy and quick change to the second station within few minutes. A window from which the protagonist would be able to easily jump out of. Furniture that could be moved around with ease.
